Mayor of Rzeszów at R&D CENTER BURY
On the 14th of September, R&D CENTER BURY hosted representatives of the Rzeszów City Hall led by the Mayor of Rzeszów, Konrad Fijołek. The Mayor was accompanied by the Director of the City Brand, Economic Cooperation and Tourism Department of the Rzeszów City Hall, Kamil Czyż, as well as Marzena Kłeczek – Krawiec and Grzegorz Bukała from the Press and Social Communication Office of the Rzeszów City Hall.
The BURY Company was represented by Ms Bernadetta Dzik, President of Management Board, Gabriel Buchała, the Director of Development, and the manager of the Rzeszów branch of BURY R&D CENTER – Piotr Nowak. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the development prospects of BURY in the context of cooperation with the City Government. During the meeting, many interesting issues related to business functioning were raised, with particular emphasis on high-tech industries.
The Mayor of Rzeszów noted that the City Government is open to partnering with entrepreneurs, including vocational education, to create a profile of secondary education that meets the needs of the automotive industry. The Mayor Konrad Fijołek also stressed that the development of the city largely depends on the development of industry, so there was a discussion about the forms of support that the city of Rzeszów can provide to companies, for example, in terms of improving the qualifications and availability of human resources, both engineering and manufacturing, the business development climate of technology companies and cooperation with schools or universities. Due to staff shortages, adapting the labor program for foreigners from the East may also prove helpful.
During the meeting, the BURY company was able to present itself to guests as a company with strong connections to the Podkarpackie region and the city of Rzeszów. The company’s development history, product portfolio and future plans were outlined.
Aspects of the development of modern and innovative products on which BURY is working and which are manufactured in the Podkarpackie region for the largest and most well-known automotive companies, with particular emphasis on such giants in the industry as the VW group, Mercedes and BMW, were presented. The specifics of electronics and software development for automotive were also presented, emphasizing the high standards and processes in place for products, such as cybersecurity and functional safety. In the past, functions in the car were carried out electromechanically, and later analog and digital electronics came in. Nowadays, a car is becoming a “driving smartphone” – where many functionalities are implemented software-wise using dedicated microcontrollers and software, and individual components interact not only with each other but with the outside world through back-end and cloud solutions.
Finally, the entire delegation had the opportunity for a quick tour around the R&D areas where these types of products are developed.
